Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is located in rugged, semi-arid valleys with two rivers Kidepo and Narus that dry up in dry season leaving pools for wildlife to water. Thou some permanent water can be found in wetlands and remnant pools in the broad valley at Narus near Apoka seasonal Oases with open savannah terrain having a good population of elephants and lions plus few Antelopes, Buffaloes, Uganda Kob.
It is located between Uganda’s borders with South Sudan in the North West and was gazetted in 1962 with over 77 mammal species.
Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated and magnificent since it ranks as one of Africa’s finest wilderness parks. A savannah landscape extends far beyond gazetted areas with outlined horizons by distant mountain ranges.
Elephant population as per to date increased in number. Also available are some birds like the northern Bee eater, Ostrich being the most common.
