Semuliki Forest Reserve was created in 1932 and upgraded to national park in 1993.Its located at Bundibugyo district at the valley This tropical forest reserve boasts of 0ver 440 bid species and some mammals.
There are 4 tribes living nearest to the reserve the Bwamba farmers on the slopes of the Rwenzori, Bakonjo cultivators on the mountain slopes, the Batuku cattle keepers who inhabit the open plains and Batwa pygmies the traditional hunter gathers who live on the edge of the most ancient Ituri forest at the Congo basin.
Also located at the national park are Hot springs that bubble up from the depths of the Earth.
Inhabiting over 120 species of mammals Baboons and Chimpanzees as well as few Elephants and Antelopes. Hippos along the Semliki River, Crocodiles, some Butterflies, Forest Swallow, Moth species. Over 435 bird species have been recorded in Semuliki National Park. Birds like Guinea-Congo Forest biometric bird species, Sparrow Hawk.
