Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest Savannah National Park located in western Nyabushozi County, Kiruhura District and covers 370 square kms. It is home to over 350 bird’s species such as Zebras, Topi, Hippos, Waterbuck, Elands, Impalas, Hyenas, Buffalos, Warthog, Bushpig and Leopards plus a few Lions.
Lake Mburo National Park is mostly papyrus swamp and underlain by Precambrian metamorphic rocks plus lots of woodland.
